Four months ago Germany elected its new government. Since then, the black-yellow coalition (made up of the CDU/CSU and FDP parties) has been busy with negotiations and appointing its many ministers. It has not paid any attention to its disability policies yet. What the new government was able to accomplish so far and where it is going, is part of our Topic of the Month March.

Since the Black-Yellow coalition has been in office, people with disabilities feel neglected by their government. The only bright spot appears to be in the educational system: An expert opinion demands the legal right to inclusion in a regular classroom.

REHACARE.de spoke to the new Federal Government Commissioner for the Disabled about anxiousness, high expectations and political goals.
- Disability policy: “That’s not a gentle topic, but a really harsh one“
