REHACARE.de spoke to Nina Wortmann, finalist of the German contest "beauties in motion" in 2004, about happiness, her desires and children.
REHACARE.de: What makes you get up in the morning?
Nina Wortmann: My daughter, so she gets to school on time after having a healthy breakfast.
REHACARE.de: What is your favorite place and why?
Nina Wortmann: My favorite place is my home. No matter where I am, whether at the ocean or at some other beautiful place in this world - my home is still the best place in the world. My slogan is: “My home is my castle”.
REHACARE.de: Who or what impresses you?
Nina Wortmann: Children impress me very much. It’s wonderful to see how they approach new challenges and how they don’t just immediately stick their head in the sand like many grown-ups do. Children accept every person without prejudice, whether they are handicapped or whether they have a different skin color. If children don’t understand or know something, they inquire about it. If one approaches them openly and sincerely, they don’t develop any fear of contact or prejudices.
REHACARE.de: What is your most valuable possession?
Nina Wortmann: My life.
REHACARE.de: What are you fed up with?
Nina Wortmann: With unhappy people.
REHACARE.de: What makes you relax the most?
Nina Wortmann: I can really kick back with a good book.
REHACARE.de: What makes you happy?
Nina Wortmann: Falling asleep at night, all snuggled up to my husband.
REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Nina Wortmann: No.
REHACARE.de: Name three things that make for a fulfilled life!
Nina Wortmann: To be content with yourself, to be loved and to occasionally do something crazy, by that I mean breaking out of your daily grind.

REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt blown away by something?
Nina Wortmann: By the courage of my daughter. During a circus project, she was lifted 23 feet high up into the air on a trapeze and only hung with her legs wrapped around the bar, head down. I gasped and just thought: “My little Superhero“.
REHACARE.de: What questions would you like to know the answer to?
Nina Wortmann: None, except for perhaps what the next lottery numbers might be.
REHACARE.de: When was the last time you felt like hiding from something?
Nina Wortmann: I never had the feeling to hide from something, and I hope that I will never get the feeling either. I can imagine though, how sad it must be for people to have to hide from society.
REHACARE.de: What makes a person rich?
Nina Wortmann: Anything he/she needs to be happy.
REHACARE.de: What is your philosophy of life?
Nina Wortmann: Carpe diem. (= Seize the day.)
