The category "news of the region” takes in the main sector with 46 local acoustic newspapers. Interested listeners find articles about regional politics of the Northern, Eastern or Southern Germany, local economy reports of Nordrhein-Westfalen (Northrine Westphalia), Hessen (Hesse), Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) and cultural events of the Saarland . The news are composed by the local editorial staff and put on mothertapes, which are send to ATZ in Holzminden. The 90-minutes program is separated into two parts: the news part is recorded on the tape's first side and the cultural part is copied on the second side. Finally, the association members send the tapes to the subscribers by mail.

Another huge sector deals with the acoustic magazines. Six media are about the topics politics, economy and consumer. In this category, one finds the weekly published Focus and the economy magazine CAPITAL. Phantasia, another magazine available, especially addresses young people. It discusses political and society aspects on the sight of the youth. Data bank users find these magazines also in the topic youth, woman, society. In this sector, the monthly magazine "Freundinnen” ("girlfriends”) is published. It not only contains extracts of newspapers and magazines, but also articles of blind and visually disabled female listeners and editorial staff.

The 164 issue starts with a critical report on the football world championship, astrological trends for 2006 and ends with a report about "sisters in prison”. The data bank includes besides the topics health, nature and science a with lighter categorie with entertainment, leisure time and sports. The ATZ produces in charge of other organisations tapes on the topics job and working world: the trade union verdi orders for their members a listening newspaper in tape-ediction. The ATZ copies for the working union of the federal severely disabled representation the roundletters and send them in tape-edition. Less ceremonial are the acoustic newspapers of the federal working community help for disabled people (BAG-h).

No matter if hard facts or soft entertainment, to deliver the latest edition of more than ten thousand subscriber to 6 700 listeners, the sound storage medium and the wrappers must be send back to Holzminden within fourteen days. Members of the union get for a yearly contribution of 30 Euro the local news of the wished region. There are additional costs for the magazines, which depend on the publishing frequency.
