Name: Anette Jablonski
Age: 33
City: Duesseldorf/Germany
Occupation: Free artist
Handicap: Spasticity
She fulfils herself by painting – by her images, Anette Jablonski communicates with the world outside and gives vent to her feelings. The artist who suffers from spasticity talked with REHACARE.de about her way to independence and about her own head which sometimes seems to be an obstacle to her.
REHACARE.de: When did you last laugh heartily and what about?
Anette Jablonski: I recently met someone and then did not recognise him again the next day. This is such a typical embarrassing moment in my life about which I can then laugh heartily.
REHACARE.de: What is your favourite place? And why?
Anette Jablonski: Most of all when I am in my studio, because there I can fulfil myself and I can relax to think about myself. Outside the studio I need help but I can still paint.
REHACARE.de: The last meal in my life would be…
Anette Jablonski: A juicy roast chicken.
REHACARE.de: Which person has influenced you most?
Anette Jablonski: My friend Annette who has motivated me to develop myself further in my art.
REHACARE.de: Is there something you should throw away, but won’t?
Anette Jablonski: My head which is sometimes more an obstacle than a help for me.
REHACARE.de: If you were to win one million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
Anette Jablonski: Maybe I would start a big art project. And I would try to find out how I can help other people with the money. Maybe I would donate something or support a charitable project.
REHACARE.de: Which moment of your life would you like to relive?
Anette Jablonski: I would like to experience the moment again when I moved out from my parents and I moved into a shared flat with a few friends. The moment I became really independent.

REHACARE.de: What are you fed up about?
Anette Jablonski: I am fed up about people who look at me like I am an alien.
REHACARE.de: How can you relax the best?
Anette Jablonski: The best way I can relax is when I am listening to good music and when I am painting.
REHACARE.de: I enjoy listening to music by…
Anette Jablonski: I do not necessarily have a group or an artist that I like best. But I like to hear live music, even of completely unknown groups and cover bands.
REHACARE.de: Which questions would you like answered the most?
Anette Jablonski: I would like to have the answer to the question why some people seem to have everything - good health, money, a great job, family - and other people seem to have trouble with all these things.
REHACARE.de: What are you most afraid of?
Anette Jablonski: I am most afraid of that my health decreases so much that I cannot continue with my art and my life as before.
REHACARE.de: What else would you like to accomplish in life?
