It is about time! From the 17th to 28th of September the Paralympic Games in Athens take place. Around 4000 athletes from 120 nations will participate in 19 sports disciplines at 20 different venues. If that isn't some sort of calculation.

Athens 2004 is something special. The organisers are the first committee in history that is responsible for the Olympic as well as the Paralympic Games. Furthermore, they were the first ones to get rid off a participation fee in order to eliminate any discrimination of participants of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. More interesting background information on the Games can be read in our Topic of the Month.
